ARECC - Amateur Radio Emergency Communications Course Level 1 - ARRL ARECC Level 1

WA8UNS Thomas Q Kimball of Ridgefield,Connecticut finished and passed the ARECC - Amateur Radio Emergency Communications Course Level 1 - ARRL ARECC Level 1. I had passed this back on March 27, 2007 and thought that I would add this to my blog/website. It's under my first call sign KB1MJF this was before changing it to WA8UNS

After getting an email from
Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) on Amateur Radio in Disaster Preparedness

National Registry for Certified EmComm Volunteers. The NRCEV mentions under Training

One day I would like to take the
Public Service and Emergency Communications Management for Radio Amateurs- Course #: EC-016
but at $39.00 to join ARRL for 1 year, and then and then other cost of $35 for Taking the Final Assessment. It's kind of hard to do when on limited income and bills to pay,
I have all the Prerequisites listed below
•ARRL Amateur Radio Emergency Communications Level 1/ Basic (EC-001)

And the following Federal Emergency Management Association (FEMA) courses: ·

•ICS-100.b Introduction to Incident Command System ·
•ICS-200.b ICS for Single Incidents and Initial Action Incidents ·
•IS-700 NIMS: An Introduction

NIMS ICS-300, highly recommended, but not required.

•IS-800 National Response Framework ·
•IS-240.a Leadership & Influence ·
•IS-241.a Decision Making & Problem Solving
•IS-250 Emergency Support Function 15 (ESF-15) External Affairs·
•IS-1 Emergency Manager, An Orientation to the Position ·
•IS-288 The Role of Voluntary Agencies in Emergency Management ·
•IS-244.a Developing and Managing Volunteers ·
•IS-120.a An Introduction to Exercises ·
•IS-130 Exercise Evaluation and Improvement Planning ·
•IS-139 Exercise Design

I had the had the opportunity to volunteer for The Town of Ridgefield,Connecticut KR1COM EOC Emergency Operations Center Radio Room during both storms. I'm a General Class Amateur Radio Operator. But I can not afford my own HF Radio due to limited income. So rarely on HF if ever, And unfortunately had to sell my handheld recently my Yaesu VX-8R to help pay for car repairs.,
