Please help people affected by disasters by making a gift to the American Red Cross in Connecticut and Rhode Island. Your gift enables us--ME--to help people prevent, prepare for, and respond to disasters big and small. Through an army of volunteers, donors and partners, the American Red Cross is there during people's darkest hours: after a home fire, following a flood, in the aftermath of a hurricane like hurricane Sandy. Here in Ridgefield, Connecticut having the local Ridgefield Recreation Center used as a shelter for our local community in some of our major storms that has hit the Connecticut area. I myself had joined the territory region 5 Connetitcut American Red Cross in making it possible to help my friend Ed Briggs with opening up the local Ridgefield Recreation Center and utilizing it as a shelter and help Ed out with Shelter Operations there.

Be a part of the race to build up our efforts and build up your community by participating in our fundraising sprint, from 2/26/17 - 4/30/17.  Together, during fiscal year 2016  we installed more than 10,000 free smoke alarms in Connecticut and Rhode Island homes! Your local Red Cross is made up of more than 3,000 volunteers who represent 98% of our workforce.  Our volunteers are the beating heart of our mission.  Together, you can join with us by donating your time, energy, and vision in prompting your community to join the heartbeat of our mission.

Any donation amount is greatly appreciated and a donation of just $88.50 can provide a family with a day's worth of food, plus blankets and other essentials. We are proud of the work we accomplished to help people in the Connecticut Region last year:
1    Installing more than 4,500 free smoke alarms in the community
2    Training more than 79,000 people in Red Cross CPR, First Aid, and AED training
3    Responding to nearly 1,000 disasters across our region to help families in need

I thank you in advance for your support, and encourage you to get involved with this great organization.

#WA8UNS @WA8UNS #ridgefieldct #Ridgefield in #FairfieldCounty #CT  Thomas Q Kimball of Ridgefield, Connecticut wanted to share that he recently became a Ridgefield Operation for Animal Rescue (ROAR) Volunteer a few months ago.

It’s great to have some time to be able to volunteer for Ridgefield Operation for Animal Rescue (ROAR) as I am able to work with the cats there. As It has been both beneficial to me as is to the cats.

I would have to say animals need as much love as us humans do as they want to feel loved as well.

As I have been very happy that I was able to adopt my dog Teddy from Ridgefield Operation for Animal Rescue - ROAR Teddy has been great and not sure where I would be without him my small family. Teddy brings so much happiness and joy to me and not sure where I would be without him. Would like to thank Ridgefield Operation for Animal Rescue - ROAR as Teddy has been great for me.

Teddy has a brother (cat) Amagio in which makes up the family. So both make up the small family and keeping me going. :)

It is also great to see Ridgefield Operation for Animal Rescue (ROAR) involvement and great work  with

Providing a hands-on demonstrations of shelter set-up and operations. Also providing animal behavior pearls valuable in understanding the safety and dynamics of a shelter environment.
